A practical request became a connected harvest platform.

Rick Mather has worked with produce operations since 1983. In 2014, Laurie Grobe, then with Ohio Apple, brought him a practical problem: print labels in the orchard and track fruit bins while the work was happening.

Rick began working with David Wasden and Zenware to create Harvest Bin. As growers, packers, storage operators, and processors brought new requirements, Harvest Bin grew into Harvest Pack and then Harvest Point. Laurie is now part of Balk Juice and remains a Harvest Point customer.

    Produce operations experience

    An orchard-labeling and bin-tracking request became a mobile workflow for work happening in the field.

    Field packing added live case labeling and the records needed to move finished product toward the cooler.

    The product expanded across receiving, inventory, quality, packing, shipping, and traceability.
