Initial Printer Setup

Step 1: Charge the Printer

Before first use, charge the battery fully (approximately 4 hours). The LED indicator will turn solid green when charging is complete.

Step 2: Load Labels

1. Open the media cover by pressing the release latch
2. Insert the label roll with labels feeding from the bottom
3. Thread the labels through the media guides
4. Close the cover until it clicks
5. Press the Feed button to advance labels

Step 3: Enable Bluetooth Discoverable Mode

1. Power on the printer by holding the Power button for 2 seconds
2. Press and hold the Feed button for 5 seconds
3. The Bluetooth LED will blink blue, indicating discoverable mode
4. Discoverable mode remains active for 2 minutes

Pairing with iPhone or iPad

1. Open Settings → Bluetooth
2. Ensure Bluetooth is enabled
3. Under "Other Devices," look for your Zebra printer (e.g., "ZQ320-XXXXXXX")
4. Tap to pair
5. If prompted for a PIN, enter 0000 or 1234
6. Wait for "Connected" status

Configuring in Harvest Point Mobile

1. Open Harvest Point Mobile
2. Go to Settings → Printers
3. Tap Add Printer
4. Select Zebra Bluetooth
5. Choose your paired printer from the list
6. Select the appropriate label size:
   • 2" x 1" - Small bin labels
   • 3" x 2" - Standard produce labels
   • 4" x 3" - Pallet/case labels
   • 4" x 6" - Shipping labels
7. Print a test label to verify alignment

Optimizing Print Speed

For high-volume harvest operations, optimize your printer settings:

• Print darkness: Set to 15-20 for best barcode scanning
• Print speed: 4 inches/second balances speed and quality
• Media type: Set to "Gap" for die-cut labels or "Continuous" for receipt paper

Troubleshooting

Printer Not Discoverable

• Ensure the printer is powered on and charged
• Re-enter discoverable mode (hold Feed for 5 seconds)
• Move closer to your mobile device (within 10 feet)
• Restart both the printer and mobile device

Prints Are Faded or Light

• Increase print darkness in printer settings
• Check that you're using direct thermal labels (not thermal transfer)
• Clean the print head with a cleaning pen

Barcode Won't Scan

• Increase print darkness to improve contrast
• Ensure adequate quiet zone around barcode
• Use high-quality label stock designed for thermal printing
