Agricultural timekeeping is more useful when a punch carries the operating context behind it. Harvest Point connects employee and crew activity with tasks, work orders, locations, review, approval, and payroll preparation.
Each operation can configure the actions, locations, tasks, and review steps it uses. The sequence below describes supported options, not a required setup.
1. Configure the operation
Set up employees and crews, the work locations that matter to the operation, and the tasks or work orders used to describe labor. Timekeeping preferences control available actions such as breaks and lunch. Employee badges can be prepared when badge-based entry is part of the workflow.
2. Start the workday
A crew leader or authorized user can work with individual employees or selected groups. Clock-in can be entered manually, by typing an employee code, or by scanning an employee badge. The current time state helps the operator see what action is valid next.
3. Record the work context
Starting a task or work order can associate time with the employee, crew, orchard or field, block, commodity, variety, and related work information when those details apply. Break and lunch events can be recorded according to the operation's enabled settings.
4. Manage changes during the day
When work changes, selected employees can move to another task, work order, crew, or location. Harvest Point's time-state rules guard against invalid transitions while clock-out closes the employee's active day and preserves the sequence of activity.
5. Review labor activity
Managers can review time by employee, crew, location, task, or work order and inspect individual punches. Reports include elapsed time and operating context; related piecework or yield-tag information can be included where configured.
6. Correct and approve
Authorized users can correct time records and move an employee day through the supported states: Not Reviewed, Reviewed, Approved, and Paid. Separate privileges govern the transitions. Entry mode, badge-scan time, GPS location when captured, and change history help reviewers understand how a record was created and changed.
7. Prepare payroll output
Approved time and related piecework data can support payroll calculations and configured payroll-file preparation. The available output depends on the organization's payroll profile and remains a reviewed handoff rather than an assumption that every payroll system is directly connected.
