How to Create Custom Web Reports

Harvest Point Web includes a powerful report builder that lets you create custom reports tailored to your farm's specific needs. From simple harvest summaries to complex multi-season analysis, you have full control over your data.

Accessing the Report Builder

  1. Log in to harvestpoint.app
  2. Navigate to Reports in the main menu
  3. Click Create Custom Report

Report Types

Choose from several report types based on your needs:

Harvest Summary Reports

Overview of harvest activity by date, block, variety, or crew.

  • Total bins/containers harvested
  • Weight/volume totals
  • Comparison to previous periods

Labor Reports

Detailed crew and worker productivity analysis.

  • Hours worked by employee
  • Piece rate earnings
  • Productivity metrics (bins/hour)
  • Overtime tracking

Traceability Reports

Full chain-of-custody documentation for compliance.

  • Lot/batch tracking
  • Field-to-pack journey
  • PTI compliance data

Financial Reports

Cost analysis and profitability metrics.

  • Cost per bin/pound
  • Labor cost analysis
  • Revenue by variety/block

Building Your Report

Step 1: Select Data Source

Choose the primary data type for your report:

  • Harvest Records - Picking and hauling data
  • Time Entries - Labor and hours
  • Inventory - Bin and pallet tracking
  • Orders - Sales and fulfillment
  • Inspections - Quality control data

Step 2: Choose Columns

Select which fields to include in your report:

Available fields vary by data source. Examples:
  • Date, Time
  • Worker Name, Crew
  • Block, Row, Variety
  • Container Type, Count
  • Weight, Grade
  • GPS Location
  • Notes, Photos

Step 3: Set Filters

Narrow your report to specific data:

Crew/WorkerSpecific crews or individual workers
VarietySpecific crop varieties

Step 4: Configure Grouping

Organize your data with grouping options:

  • Group by Date - Daily summaries
  • Group by Week - Weekly rollups
  • Group by Block - Location-based analysis
  • Group by Worker - Individual performance
  • Group by Variety - Crop comparison
  • Multiple Groups - Nested groupings (e.g., Block → Variety → Date)

Step 5: Add Calculations

Include summary calculations:

  • Sum - Total of numeric fields
  • Average - Mean values
  • Count - Number of records
  • Min/Max - Lowest and highest values
  • Percentage - Proportional analysis

Saving and Scheduling Reports

Save as Template

  1. Configure your report
  2. Click Save Report
  3. Enter a descriptive name (e.g., "Daily Harvest Summary by Block")
  4. Choose visibility: Private or Shared with Team

Schedule Automatic Reports

Set up reports to run automatically:

  1. Open a saved report
  2. Click Schedule
  3. Choose frequency: Daily, Weekly, Monthly
  4. Select delivery time
  5. Enter email recipients
  6. Choose format: PDF or Excel

Export Options

Export your reports in multiple formats:

  • PDF - Print-ready formatted report
  • Excel (.xlsx) - Full data for further analysis
  • CSV - Simple format for import to other systems
  • Print - Direct printing from browser

Data: Harvest Records

Columns: Date, Block, Variety, Bins Picked, Total Weight

Filter: Today

Group by: Block, then Variety

Tips for Effective Reports

  • Start simple - Begin with basic reports and add complexity as needed
  • Use meaningful names - "Q3 Apple Harvest by Block" is better than "Report 1"
  • Schedule recurring reports - Automate daily/weekly reports to save time
  • Share with your team - Make commonly-used reports available to supervisors
  • Export for analysis - Use Excel exports for advanced pivot tables and charts
