Features That Work Differently

Barcode Scanning

If your Mac has a camera, you can use it for barcode scanning. Position the barcode in front of your Mac's camera. For better results:

  • Ensure good lighting
  • Hold the barcode 6-12 inches from the camera
  • Consider a USB barcode scanner for high-volume work

USB Barcode Scanners

For office/packing shed use, USB barcode scanners work seamlessly:

  • Plug in any USB HID barcode scanner
  • Scanners act as keyboard input
  • Scanned barcodes automatically populate text fields

Printing

Printing from the Mac version uses your Mac's print system:

  • Network printers configured on your Mac work automatically
  • Bluetooth printers may need to be paired in Mac System Preferences
  • USB-connected label printers work via Mac printer drivers

Location Services

GPS features work with your Mac's location services. Grant permission when prompted for features like:

  • Field/block location tagging
  • Route tracking for hauling
  • Geofencing for time tracking

Best Practices for Office Use

Multi-Monitor Setup

Run Harvest Point Mobile on a secondary monitor while using web reports on your primary display.
